The detached country house `Mimosa` with two flats lies in a wonderful hillside location with a fascinating view of the lake and surrounding mountains. The village of Olgiasca lies to the south of the pretty town of Colico on a promontory surrounding the Bay of Piona. Only 250 m from the lake, the house is situated in a rural location surrounded by typical Lombardy residential houses. Planted with Mediterranean flowers and shrubs, the garden is lovingly maintained - a highlight is the rockery, which is well established with palms and other Mediterranean plants. The large garden offers plenty of space either for sun bathing on the sun loungers or playing ball games. The dining area in the garden is the perfect place to end the day. Facing the garden there is a nice cantina with open fire and a circular wooden dining table and chairs - large enough for 10 to 12 people, this is an ideal place for celebrating with family (in agreement with other guests). Just north of Olgiasca, some 5 minutes away by car, is the small charming town of Colico with great opportunities for shopping and lovely shore promenades as well as traditional Lombardy restaurants. The town of Colico is also a gateway for travellers wishing to explore the lake and surrounding area. At the harbour, a public ferry service from the boats` landing stage will take you to all the attractive towns and sights around the lake. A regional train service runs directly from the small train station of Colico south to the fashion capital of Milan (with panoramic views of the lake) or north to Chiavenna/Sondrio.
